The season ended for the St. John Fisher College men's lacrosse program on Wednesday, as the Cardinals dropped a 17-6 decision to host Ithaca College, the nation's No. 1 ranked team, in the semifinals of the Empire 8 Conference. With the loss, Fisher finishes the season with a 8-9 overall record.
Fisher trailed just 2-0 after one quarter, but the Bombers (17-1) scored seven straight goals in the second period to take control. Fisher answered with one of two goals from
Andrew Rosso late in the half to make it 9-1 at the break, and the Cardinals scored the first two goals of the third quarter to make it 9-3, but the damage was already done.
Rosso finished with two goals, while
Gary Bova,
Dante Giordano,
Alex Hunt,
Jarett Duchesneau each scored a goal, while
Nick Rapp picked up one assist.
Alex Goodermote won five faceoffs, while
Benjamin Stallman won six.  Junior goalie
Tanner Swan stopped 10 shots, while scooping up three ground balls, while causing two turnovers.
