Jim Dawson threw seven impressive innings to guide the St. John Fisher College baseball team to 2-0 win over host Rochester Institute of Technology this afternoon at Tiger Stadium.

Dawson improved his record to 8-0 and lowered his ERA to 0.90 on the season. He scattered four hits, walked one and fanned two in the contest. The Cardinal bullpen didn't allow the Tigers  to reach base for the remaining two innings.

Fisher improves to 29-8 overall on the season, while RIT drops to 14-21.

The Cardinals took an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first. With one out,
Jack Trotman singled to right and later advanced to third when shortstop
Mike Roman singled to the right center field gap.Â
Scott Eisenmenger's sacrifice fly to left field scored Trotman to put to Fisher first on the board.

Fisher tacked on its final run in the bottom of the third on just two hits. Roman's single through the right side got things rolling with one down. He later moved to second as Eisenmenger walked on six pitches. Left fielder
Nate Roethel's single into center plated Roman to give the Cardinals its 2-0 lead.
Roethel paced all Cardinal hitters, contest going 3-for-3 with a double.
Joe Simmons finished the game with two stolen bases for the second time this season.

RIT's four hits were scattered over four different Tigers.

The Cardinals are back on the road this Friday at 3 p.m. to face Empire 8 foe Utica College.
