The nationally-ranked St. John Fisher College women's lacrosse program jumped out to a 12-1 lead after 30 minutes and never looked back, as the Cardinals cruised to a 19-2 win over visiting Elmira College on Saturday afternoon at Fisher's Growney Stadium.
With the win, Fisher, ranked No. 17 in the latest national coaches poll, improves to 13-1 overall and 5-0 in the Empire 8 Conference. The Cardinals are off to their best start in the program's 17-year history.

Fisher took a 5-0 lead in the opening 7:20 of the game. After an Elmira goal, the Cardinals closed out the half with a 7-0 spurt to take control.

Twelve different players scored for Fisher, led by junior
Jordan Johnson, who tallied five points on three goals and two assists.Â
Mackenzie LeVan and
Cassie Knowlton each finished with four points on three goals and one assist.

Jackie Picard and
Carly Sullivan each scored two goals. Picard also paced Fisher with three ground balls and three draw controls.

Sierra Badger chalked up one assist.
Mary Grace Doyle led Fisher defense with three caused turnovers.

Fisher returns to action at 12 p.m. on Sunday as the Cardinals host Stevens Institute of Technology. It will be Fisher's last regular-season home game.
