Fisher Downs Nazareth In Men's Tennis

The St. John Fisher College men's tennis team delivered a 7-2 win over East Avenue rival Nazareth College on Saturday at Fisher's Mendon Racquet Club.  With the win, the Cardinals improve to 7-5 overall and 3-1 in the Empire 8 Conference.

Fisher took two out of three points in the doubles action to take the early lead.  Kevin Kulawiec and Quinn Magiera stayed hot with an 8-2 win at first doubles, while Jacob Zarzycki and Adam Moran cruised to an 8-1 win at second doubles.  

Kulawiec won 7-5, 6-0 at first singles, while Magiera notched a 6-3, 6-1 victory at second singles.   Zarzycki battled back for a 6-3, 5-7, 6-2 win at third singles, while Jarrett Pelton clinched the match with his 6-4, 7-6 (7-1) victory at fifth singles.  Moran closed out the scoring with a straight set victory at sixth singles.

Fisher, winners of three straight, return to action on Friday at Houghton College.
