The St. John Fisher College baseball program tallied a season-high 13 hits and nine runs on Saturday, as the Cardinals collected a 9-1 win over John Carroll University at the RussMatt Central Florida Tournament in Winter Haven.
With the win, Fisher improves to 5-3 overall.
The Blue Streaks scored their only run on of the day in the first inning, but the Cardinals took the lead for good with three runs in the bottom of the first.
With runners on second and third after a single from
Jack Trotman and a double from
Mike Roman,
Scott Eisenmenger ripped a two-run double. Two batters later, Eisenmenger crossed home a single from
Tom Kline.
Trotman scored in the third inning as well. He led off the inning with a single and scored on a double from
Frank Carnevale.
Senior
Cody Wiktorski gave the Cardinals a 6-1 lead in the fourth, hitting his second home run of the season, scoring
Evan Ryan, who reached on a single.
Fisher added three runs in the eighth, highlighted by a two-run triple from
Ryan Prevost.
Starting pitcher
Marc Iseneker earned the win, going seven solid innings. The junior scattered six hits, while striking out seven. Relievers
Ryan Felske and
Kevin Berge pitched scoreless eighth and ninth innings, respectively.
Fisher returns to action on Sunday with two games against Marietta College.
