The St. John Fisher College gave nationally-ranked SUNY Oswego its first loss of the season, as the Cardinals came through with a convincing 10-0 win over the Lakers on Saturday at Fisher's Dugan Yard.
With the win, Fisher improves to 7-5 overall, while Oswego, who entered the game ranked No. 23 in the latest d3baseball.com poll, falls to 8-1.
The victory earned the Cardinals a split in the doubleheader, as Oswego two runs in the top of the ninth to earn a 4-3 win over Fisher in the opener.

Fisher returns to action next weekend with two games at Haverford College on Saturday, followed by a single game at Kean University on Sunday.
Game One – Oswego 4, Fisher 3Oswego took a 2-0 lead in the third inning, but Fisher got one back in the fourth.Â
Frank Carnevale doubled to start the inning and scored on a sacrifice fly from
Jack Vivinetto.

The Cardinals took a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the fifth on solo home runs from
Evan Ryan and
Mike Roman.
It would stay 3-2 until the ninth when Oswego used back-to-back doubles to help take a 4-3 lead.
In the bottom of the ninth,
Tom Kline led off the inning with a single and advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt from
Ryan Prevost.Â
Mike Roman then hit a long fly ball to right field with the outfielder making an over-the-shoulder diving catch. Kline, who appeared to tag up, was doubled up on the play after the field umpire ruled that he left early, thus ending the game.
Junior pitcher
Marc Iseneker was tagged with the loss, allowing two earned runs on nine hits over 8.1 innings, while striking out nine batters for the second straight game.
Game Two - Fisher 10, Oswego 0Pitchers

Jim Dawson,
Stephen Lewis and
Dominick Pisciotto allowed just three hits and struck out five over nine innings in the combined shutout. Dawson gave up the three hits, but earned the win, as Fisher scored three runs in the fourth and four in the fifth to take a 7-0 lead.
Designated hitter
Frank Carnevale led Fisher's offensive attack, going 3-for-4 with three runs scored and four RBI. His big hit of the day came in the sixth, when he ripped a bases-loaded double to plate three runs.
Malcolm Kelsey went 2-for-5 with three RBI, while
Jack Trotman also picked up two hits.
Mike Roman and
Scott Eisenmenger each scored twice.
