The St. John Fisher College volleyball team brought its 2016 season to a close after a 3-0 loss to Stevens Institute of Technology in the semi-final round of the Empire 8 Conference Volleyball Championship tournament on Saturday.

With the loss, Fisher finishes its season 12-20 overall, and 5-3 in the Empire 8. The Cardinals finished the three sets 25-15, 25-12, and 25-20.

Junior
Katie Mazierski was most dominant for the Cardinals defensively, putting up 11 digs in the contest, while
Jessica Simonetti and
Anna Marcy registered six each. Simonetti ranks with 9
th in the Empire 8 in services aces with 47.

Marcy also put up numbers offensively, reached double-digits in kills with 14. Marcy finishes her junior season third in the Empire 8 for kills with 367 total. Mazierski also recorded six kills and three aces.

Setting duties were given to Phebe Kane, who recorded 23 sets and three service aces. Kane reached the top of the charts this season for aces, as she sits in first place across the conference with 67. She also ranks fourth in assists with 843.
