The St. John Fisher College women's soccer team shut out the Soaring Eagles of Elmira College 2-0 in an Empire 8 matchup on Sunday in a game dedicated to Pancreatic Cancer Awareness.
Fisher was first to get on the board in the first half, when senior
Taryn Guinta shot one just over the keeper after a long ball from
Nicolette Nigro from 40 yards out.
Guinta would find the back of the net again this time in the second half when
Emily Murray sent a pass right in front of the goal which would make its way between two defenders before Guinta took control and shot to the lower right corner.

Gabriella Cotugno finished the match with three saves. and is credited with the shut out.
The Cardinals return to action at 7 p.m. on Friday when they travel to take on the Saxons of Alfred University.
