After a bit of back-and-forth action through the first 10 minutes, the Cardinals got its offense percolating.
Kelly Bergamo scored her first goal at the 11:35 mark to give Fisher the early lead. Only 1:39 later Bergamo scored her second as she one-timed a pass from
Emily Markarian. The Cardinals would tack on one more before the half from
Gabby LaForce and take the 3-0 lead into the locker room.
The second half was much of the same as Markarian scored the first of her three on the day just three minutes in.
Lindsay Scott earned her first tally on the year as she found the ball in a mass of people in front of the net and beat Oswego's Sarita Charap.
Lauren Fazio got on the scoresheet next with a goal assisted by Scott in the 53
rd minute.
To end the game, Markarian registered her team-high 16
th and 17
th goals on the season in the last 15 minutes. The junior is now at 42 points on the year, just one point shy of the St. John Fisher College single-season points record which she set her freshman year
On defense,
Abbey Kowalski had a key defensive save on the goal line in the first half, helping the Cardinals preserve the 1-0 lead.
Ashley Maynard, who leads the country in both goals-against average and save percentage, stopped both of the shots she saw in her 48:18 of play. She was relieved by
Amanda Maciol who turned aside two Laker shots in the final 23 minutes.
Field Hockey will be back in action at 2 p.m. on Saturday as the team travels to Hartwick College for the regular season finale.
