Second-seeded St. John Fisher College advanced to the title game in the Empire 8 Women's Lacrosse Championship, as the Cardinals picked up a 10-7 win over No. 3 Stevens Institute of Technology in Saturday's semifinals, hosted by Nazareth College.

With the win, Fisher improves to 13-5 and will try to win its fourth straight Empire 8 title at noon on Sunday at Nazareth. The Cardinals will face No. 4 Ithaca College in the title game. The Bombers knocked off top-seeded Nazareth in Saturday's other semifinal game. This will be the fourth straight year Fisher and Ithaca have met in the E8 finals.
With the game tied at 2-2 midway through the first half, Fisher took the lead for good scoring three straight goals in a 3:13 span.  Fisher led 6-4 at the half and pushed its edge to 9-5, outscoring the Ducks 3-1 over the first 22 minutes of the second half.
Stevens pulled to within two goals at 9-7 with just over five minutes left, but the Cardinals'
Sierra Badger scored her third goal of the game to put the contest out of reach.
Lindsey Shoales led Fisher with five draw controls, while
Nicole Hart made seven saves in net to earn the win in goal.
Jordan Johnson totaled four points on three goals and one assist, while
Erin Ward added three points on two goals and one assist, while scooping up two ground balls.
Chrissy Cook led Fisher with three ground balls and two caused turnovers, while adding one goal and one assist.
Samantha Barton also scored in the win.
