The St. John Fisher College baseball program dropped a 3-1 decision to visiting Houghton College on Friday afternoon at Fisher's Dugan Yard. With the loss, Fisher falls to 18-17, while Houghton improves to 17-18. The two schools will play a doubleheader at 1 p.m. on Saturday at Fisher.
The Cardinals, who tallied just four hits on the day, scored their lone run in the first inning.
Joe Simmons walked, advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt from
Mike Roman and reached third after tagging up on a fly out. Freshman
Scott Eisenmenger delivered the two-out double to put Fisher up 1-0.
Two of Fisher's hits came in the ninth inning.
Calvin Woolhiser singled through the right side and
Cody Wiktorski singled to short to put the tying run on base.
Loukas Brigham was tagged with the loss, allowing two runs on six hits over five innings.
