Men's Tennis Falls Short At Alfred

FULL RESULTS

The St. John Fisher College men's tennis team suffered a 5-4 loss to Alfred University on Saturday. With the loss, the Cardinals fall to 6-7 overall and 3-2 in Empire 8 Conference play, while the Saxons improve to 9-3 and 3-2, respectively.
 
Pat McGrath and Kevin Kulawiec assisted in each of Fisher's four points on the day. McGrath earned an 8-5 win at first doubles with Jacob Zarzycki. At second singles, the senior won 6-3, 6-2.
 
Kulawiec made a comeback and defeated his Alfred opponent at first singles 3-6, 6-3, 6-2. With Adam Moran, the freshman helped Fisher earn a point at second doubles, winning 8-4.
 
Zarzycki made a great effort at third singles, losing to his Alfred opponent in three sets, 1-6, 6-3, 5-7. Senior Kyle Stich also went three sets at sixth singles, losing 4-6, 6-2, 4-6.
 
The Cardinals return to action at 1 p.m. Sunday when they host Elmira College for their Senior Day.
