The St. John Fisher College men's teannis team cruised to a 9-0 win over visiting Utica College on Sunday in the Empire 8 Conference opener for both teams. With the win, Fisher improves to 4-5 overall and marks the program's third win in the last four matches.
The Cardinals didn't lose a single set on the day.
Pat McGrath and
Jacob Zarzycki won 8-1 at first doubles. McGrath won 6-1, 6-4 at second singles as well, while Zarzycki picked up a 6-0, 6-1 win at third singles.
Kevin Kulawiec and
Adam Moran picked up a point at second doubles with an 8-3 victory, while
Kyle Stich and
Vichaka Khoy won 8-1 at third doubles.
Moran won 6-1, 6-1 at fourth singles, while Kulawiec, Stich and
Dan Tedesco each won 6-0, 6-0 in their singles matches.
Fisher returns to action at 4 p.m. on Tuesday at Nazareth College.
