The St. John Fisher College men's lacrosse program earned its first Empire 8 Conference win of the season on Saturday, as the Cardinals came away with an 11-2 win over visiting Hartwick College at Fisher's Growney Stadium.

With the win, Fisher improves to 5-3 overall and 1-1 in the Empire 8, while Hartwick falls to 0-5, 0-2.

Fisher jumped out to a 5-0 lead after the opening quarter, scoring three goals in the final four minutes of the period to take command.

Matthew Condon scored a career-high five goals, including two in the first quarter, while sophomore goalie
Tanner Swan even got in on the action, going coast-to-coast to put Fisher up 3-0 with 3:46 left in the first.

Fisher led 6-2 at the half and quickly pushed its lead to 8-2 early in the third.Â
Dante Giordano scored a man-up goal off a pass from
Matt Colicchia with 10:57 left in the third, and just 23 seconds later, Condon scored his fourth of the day.

Giordano finished the game with two goals, while
Gary Bova tallied one goal and one assist.Â
Joe Gaug and
Andrew Rosso also scored in the win.
Ricky Barton led his team with eight ground balls, while teammate
Ricky Hahn scooped up five.

Dan Hickey forced three turnovers, while
Paul Cefalu was solid at the X, winning 12-of-17 faceoffs.

Swan earned the win in goal, recording six saves over the game's first 52 minutes.
