Jordan Johnson scored the lone goal in overtime to propel the nationally-ranked women's lacrosse team to an 11-10 victory Friday over visiting Oneonta State.
With the win, No. 17 Fisher improves to 3-1 overall while the Red Dragons fall to 0-3.
Sierra Badger tallied an unassisted goal with 1:48 remaining in regulation to put the Cardinals ahead 10-8, however the visitors were able to notch two late goals to send the game to overtime.
Johnson scored the final of her team-high three goals with 1:13 remaining in the first overtime to fuel Fisher's victory.
After being knotted up at 5s at halftime, Fisher pushed ahead 8-5 scoring the first three goals of the half.Â
Kennedy Frink started the run for Fisher just two minutes in and Lindsay Shoales capped the run at 23:11 on a man-up goal from Frink.Â
The Red Dragons pulled to within one at 8-7 before
Samantha Barton gave Fisher a 9-7 edge with just over 10 minutes remaining.
Molly Maguire came in relief at goal to earn her first-career win. The freshman tallied four saves in 46:35 of play.
Barton, Badger, and Erin ward each chipped in a pair of goals for Fisher.
Fisher returns to action at 1 p.m. Saturday when it will travel to Buffalo State College for a non-conference matchup.
