Greapentrog Earns 100th Career Win As Cardinals Down D'Youville

St. John Fisher College volleyball coach Kelly Greapentrog won her 100th career match on Wednesday night, as the Cardinals picked up their first win of the season with a straight-set victory over visiting D'Youville College.

Greapentrog is in her sixth season at Fisher.  She coached with the Cardinals in 2007 through 2009, and rejoined Fisher again in the summer in 2012.

Fisher was in control throughout the night.   Erica Stickler served 10 straight points in the opening set, including four aces, to pace the Cardinals to a 25-9 win in the opener.

After winning the second set 25-19, Erin Crandall served nine consecutive points, including three aces, to put the Cardinals up 16-6, en route to a 25-14 victory.

Freshman Madison Karwas led Fisher with eight kills, while posting an impressive .400 hitting percentage.  Classmate Amanda Miller added five kills on 10 attempts with no errors.

Paige Willson celebrated her 21st birthday with four kills.   Stickler tallied a team-high 17 assists and seven aces, while Anna Marcy added four aces.

Jordan DeMartino totaled a team-high nine digs.

Fisher returns to action at 6 p.m. on Friday at the University of Rochester Invitational and will face the Sage Colleges.
