Volleyball Drops Two At Skidmore

The St. John Fisher College volleyball team dropped its final two matches at the Skidmore Invitational on Saturday, losing 3-1 to The Sage Colleges before suffering a 3-0 decision to Middlebury College.  Freshman Madison Karwas, who tallied 23 on the day, was named to the All-Tournament Team.

The Cardinals came out strong in the first set, but couldn't keep the momentum going and ended up losing in four sets (25-21, 22-25, 16-25, 23-25) in their first match of the day.
 
Madison Karwas led the Cardinals with 17 kills in the match, while Anna Marcy chipped in an addition 12.  Brooke Meader (22) and Erica Stickler (19) contributed 41 of Fisher's 47 assists. Junior Erin Crandall also tallied 21 digs in the loss.
 
Middlebury 3, Fisher 0

Karwas led the Cardinals with six kills, while Strickler totaled 25 assists.   Jessica Simonetti was Fisher's top defensive player, finishing with a team-high 12 digs.
 
Fisher returns to action at 7 p.m. on Wednesday and will host Nazareth College.
