The St. John Fisher College men's basketball team picked up its 13^th win of the year as the Cardinals cruised to an 89-59 win over Houghton College on Friday night in an Empire 8 Conference matchup.

With the win, Fisher improves to 13-9 overall, while Houghton drops to 3-17.  Games against Houghton, a provisional member of NCAA Division III, do not impact conference standings.

Fisher took control from the opening tip.  The Cardinals jumped out to a 16-3 lead just five minutes into the game and led 44-25 at the half.    Fisher shot 63.0% (17-for-27) from the floor over the opening period and had eight different players score in the first half.

Houghton trimmed Fisher's lead down to 12 at 51-39 with 12:36 left in the game, but Fisher pulled away, responding with a 13-0 run over the next two minutes.

Tyler Hart led the Cardinals with a career-high 20 points.  Chaz Lott finished with 16 points and added five rebounds, three steals and three assists.   Stefan Bock scored seven of his 12 points in the second half and Zach Ottaway chipped in 11 points.


Fisher will return to action at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Ithaca College.
