The St. John Fisher College men's tennis team lost 8-1 to Nazareth College in an Empire 8 contest on the road Tuesday afternoon. With the loss, Fisher falls to 2-8 overall and 1-8 in the conference while the Golden Flyers improve to 3-8, 2-0.
Tom Quinzi won the Cardinals only point at sixth singles. Quinzi defeated Nick Lord in easy fashion, taking the match 6-1, 6-2.
Pat McGrath gave his competition a battle at third singles but fell just short.
McGrath forced extra points in each set, including a close 7-6 loss in the first set after falling short 8-6 in a tiebreak.
Fisher will return to action at 4 p.m. on Friday as it hosts SUNY Oswego for a non-conference match.
