Men's Tennis Downs Oswego in Convincing Fashion

The St. John Fisher College men's tennis team cruised to a 9-0 victory over the visiting SUNY Oswego Lakers. With the win, the Cardinals move to 3-8 on the season and will return to action at 4 p.m. on Thursday as they host SUNY Oneonta.

Greg Duffy and Tom Quinzi each won 6-0, 6-1 over their opponents, with Duffy performing at first singles while Quinzi held down fifth singles. Quinzi then teamed up with Pat McGrath for an easy 8-0 win as did Duffy with Dan Parshall. Sheldon Mitchell and Bryan Hanley also played together in doubles, winning 8-0 at third doubles.

Parshall played on the singles side in the second slot, winning 6-1, 6-4. Then, at third singles, was McGrath, who took down his opponent 6-2, 6-1.

Hanley faced Tim Van Hine at fourth singles, moving past the Laker, 6-2, 6-3. Finally in singles play was Jay Kline, who defeated his opposition 6-0, 3-6, 10-5 at sixth singles.
