The St. John Fisher College men's baseball team will tee-off the 2013 season on Sunday, as the Cardinals travel to Flemington, NJ for their first game.  Fisher will face fellow New York team SUNY Purchase a 10 a.m. at Diamond Nation.
 
Fisher will begin its quest for its third Empire 8 Championship, as the Cardinals enter the season picked to finish second in the Conference behind rival Ithaca College.  The Bombers have won the Empire 8 10 out of the 12 years the conference has sponsored the sport, but Fisher has won the other two, and two out of the last three.
 
The Cardinals will be led by Baseball America's Division III Preseason Pitcher of the Year, Justin D'Amato, who will look to continue on the feats of last year.  In 2012, the team racked up a College-record 31 wins while reaching the NCAA Regional round and defeated defending national champion Marietta College, who would go on to repeat as champions.  The Cardinals eventually bowed out in the double-elimination tournament.
