A new season begins tonight for the St. John Fisher College men's and women's basketball programs, as the Cardinals travel to Ithaca College for each team's first Empire 8 Conference matchup.
At 6 p.m., the women's team (4-6, 0-0) faces Ithaca College. The Bombers enter tonight's game with an 8-2 overall record and are receving votes in the WBCA and the D3hoops.com national poll. Fisher is coming off a two-point win over Thiel College on December 31st. That game saw the Cardinals rally from 20 points down in the second half to pull out the win.
The men's team (7-4, 0-0) will take on the Bombers at 8 p.m. Fisher had its five-game winning streak snapped on Tuesday, but will look to start a new one tonight, with
Jason Norsen, who ranks third nationally in blocked shots, leading the way. Ithaca is 3-8 overall, but has lost six games by five points or less.
