Volleyball Finishes as Runner-up in Bomber Invitational

Becca Smith was named to the Bomber Invitational All-Tournament Team.
The St. John Fisher College volleyball team defeated host Ithaca College 3-0 in the Bomber Invitational on Saturday afternoon in the Ben Light Gymnasium. Fisher won three of its four matches at the invitational to improve its record to 4-1 on the season and finish as runner-up. SUNY Geneseo won the invitational and handed Fisher its only loss on the weekend, beating the Cardinals, 3-2. Becca Smith was named to the All-Tournament Team for the Cardinals.

The Cardinals took the first two sets 25-22 against the Bombers and then made no question about it in the third and final set, taking Ithaca 25-17.

Rachael Kline led Fisher with 11 kills and tied for a team-high four blocks with Lauren Rokjer. Senior Amy Street finished with a match-high 33 assists to go along with a solid five digs. A team-high eight digs were earned by sophomore Kelsey Osborne.


On Friday night, Fisher defeated Union College 3-0 in its opening march and won 3-1 over Baptist Bible Colleger later in the evening.

Fisher will return to action on Tuesday night when it meets with SUNY Oswego at 7 p.m. in Manning and Napier Varsity Gymnasium.
