The St. John Fisher College softball team will face Rochester Institute of Technology at 11 a.m. on Sunday in a winner-takes-all game of the Empire 8 Conference Championship.
The winner of Sunday's game will be crowned the Empire 8 champion and will receive an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Championship.
Third-seeded Fisher missed its first opportunity to eliminate the No. 2 Tigers on Saturday, losing to RIT 8-4 at Ithaca College.
The Tigers, who eliminated top-seeded Ithaca College 1-0 earlier in the day, pounded out a season-high 18 hits and never trailed in the game.
Fisher's Kayla Goodberlet and Megan Zoerb each had three hits. Goodberlet smacked a three-run homer in the bottom of the seventh inning.
With the loss, Fisher falls to 27-12-1.
