The St. John Fisher College men's lacrosse team defeated the visiting Medaille College Mavericks 14-7 in a Tuesday afternoon game at Growney Stadium. With the non-conference win, the No. 13 Cardinals move to 14-1 on the season.
Fisher jumped out to a 10-3 lead at the half and never looked back. On the day,Fisher outshot the Mavericks, 43-23, while collecting 15 more ground balls (41-26).
The Cardinals were led by several players, including a five-point effort by junior
Ryan Schmidt (3 goals, 2 assists).
Dave Malone had a good day for Fisher, adding two goals and two assists. Senior
Jeff Price finished with two goals and an assist, while sophomore classmates
Kyle Denhoff (2 goals, 1 assist) and
Connor Henderson (1 goal, 2 assists) also finished with three-point games.
Erich Rassow went 12-for-15 from the X, while senior
Dan Serafine got the start in goal for the Cardinals and stopped 11 Maverick shots in the outing.
Fisher will return to action on Saturday when it hosts a 1 p.m. game versus the Utica College Pioneers.
