Men's Basketball Wins Sixth Straight At Utica

Matt Newman totaled 14 points and four steals in Friday's win at Utica.
The St. John Fisher College men's basketball team won its sixth straight game, as the Cardinals cruised to an 88-60 win at Utica College on Friday night.  With the win, Fisher improves to 9-2 overall and 5-0 in the Empire 8.  The Cardinals will play their seventh game in a 12-game span on Saturday and will travel back to Pittsford to host Ithaca College.

Fisher had four players in double figures with two others (Jordan Gettings - nine points and Brandon Witte - eight points) just a bucket shy.

As a team, Fisher shot 57.8% from the floor, including 5-for-10 from 3-point range and 8-for-11 (81.8%) from the foul line.

Jordan Koch led Fisher with 18 points.  Seniors Matt Newman and Michael Wopperer each scored 14 points.  Wopperer led the Cardinals with six rebounds, while Newman finished with a team-best four steals.   Connor Henderson came off the bench to scored 12 points.   Junior Will Cornett dished out a team-high seven assists.
