Men's Tennis Comes Up Just Short at Oneonta

Jake VanBuren helped earn two of Fisher's three points on Saturday.
The St. John Fisher College men's tennis team lost its first match since returning from Hilton Head, S.C. on Saturday, suffering a 6-3 loss at SUNY Oneonta.

Fisher (3-5) picked up a point with an 8-6 win from Jake VanBuren and Jack Forrest at third doubles.  The duo also earned Fisher's other two points with singles victories.

VanBuren won 6-3, 4-6, 10-8 at fourth singles, while Forrest won 7-6 (7-4), 6-4 at sixth singles.

The Cardinals, who are 2-0 in the Empire 8 Conference, will host Roberts Wesleyan College on Wednesay and will travel to conference-rival Ithaca College the following day.
