After battling to an 8-8 tie five minutes into the contest, Fisher got its offense going and took control with a 17-7 stretch that saw five different players score for the Cardinals.

Fisher, who ranks among the national leaders in field goal percentage defense, out-rebounded the Saxons 29-13 in the half, and held Alfred to just 6-of-28 (21.4%) from the field in the first half.

Alfred began the second period on a 9-0 run, but the Cardinals hunkered down on the defensive end and came up with two consecutive steals and transition baskets to regain momentum.
