Volleyball Goes 3-1 At Empire 8 Tournament

Sydney Kandefer recorded 12 kills, 10 digs and 10 blocks in a 3-2 win over Ithaca on Sunday.
The St. John Fisher College volleyball team went 1-1 on Sunday in the Empire 8 Conference Crossover Tournament at Stevens Institute of Technology.   The Cardinals lost 3-0 to the host Ducks, but rallied to beat Ithaca College 3-2.  With the win, Fisher is in third place in the Empire 8 Conference with a 3-1 record.

In the first match, Stevens won the first two games (25-20, 25-17) but trailed 24-19 in the final game before going on a 7-0 run to claim the win, 26-24.

Sydney Kandefer and Kayleigh Cassetta combined for 10 blocks and seven kills, while Alyssa Ziobrowski notched 12 digs, seven kills, and three blocks.  Jenna Waldron made 15 digs.

In Sunday's second match, Fisher won 15-5 in the final game to beat the Bombers 3-2 for the second time this season.  

Kandefer recorded a triple-double, tallying 12 kills, 10 digs and 10 blocks.  Elaina Braun finished with 30 assists, 16 digs and six blocks.
