Volleyball Defeated by Penn State-Behrend

The St. John Fisher College volleyball team fell to 9-7 on the season with a 3-1 loss to visiting Penn State-Behrend on Tuesday night.

The Cardinals won the first game 25-19, but couldn't hang on, as the Lions won 25-16, 25-15, and 30-28 to earn the win.

The Cardinals recorded several noteworthy performances on defense. Reigning Empire 8 Defensive Player of the Year Jenna Waldron recorded 35 digs, while freshman Becca Smith recorded 23 digs with nine kills. Alyssa Ziobrowski, who added a team-high 11 kills, notched 22 digs, while senior middle blocker Kayleigh Cassetta tallied nine blocks (four solo).

Junior Elaina Braun dished out 26 assists in the loss.

Fisher will return to action this weekend in the first half of the Empire 8 Conference Crossover Tournament hosted by Stevens Institute of Technology.
