Volleyball Records a Pair of 3-0 Wins in Oneonta

Alyssa Ziobrowski moved onto the top 10 career kills list with an impressive 24 kills in two matches on Saturday.
The St. John Fisher College volleyball team improved to 9-6 on the season with a pair of 3-0 wins on Saturday in Oneonta. The Cardinals edged Utica (25-16, 25-21, 30-28) in the first match, before topping host Hartwick (25-23, 25-20, 25-21) in the finale.

Senior outside hitter Alyssa Ziobrowski became just the eighth player all-time to surpass the 1,000-kill barrier with a combined 24 kills in the two matches, including 13 in the win over the Pioneers. She also added 17 digs and five blocks in the win, while totaling 20 digs, 11 kills, and five blocks in the Cardinals' three-game win over Hartwick. 

For her career, Ziobrowski sits in eighth place on the all-time kills list with 1,004, and holds 11th place on the all-time total blocks list with 256, just one block behind Michelle Woods (257, 1983-1986).

Katherine Sessions recorded 12 assists, seven digs and two blocks in the opener vs. Utica College, with Brittany Rowan digging 10 balls.

In the match against Hartwick, sisters Morgen Kandefer and Sydney Kandefer combined for 19 kills with a .450 attack percentage, and nine blocks.

Fisher (9-6) will host Penn State-Behrend at 7 p.m. on Tuesday.
