The St. John Fisher College men’s tennis team improved to 7-8 overall, 3-2 in the Empire 8 with a 6-3 win over visiting Rochester Institute of Technology on Tuesday night.

 

Junior Mike O’Connor (Bishop Grimes/Syracuse) sealed the win for Fisher in the deciding match with a 6-1, 6-1 win at fourth singles, while Donnie Sherman (Elmira Southside/Elmira) and Karl Schiefer (Liverpool/Liverpool), who each won their match in singles action, combined for another point with an 8-5 win in second doubles.
