After a Geneseo goal just fifteen seconds into the contest, senior All-American
Laurie Quackenbush (Penn Yan Academy/Penn Yan) got Fisher on the board when she assisted on a
Lauren Glavin (Corcoran/Syracuse) goal, and gave the Cardinals a 2-1 advantage with an unassisted goal two and a half minutes into the game.
The Blue Knights knotted up the score exactly two minutes later before
Courtney Clare (West Genesee/Camillus) and
Trish Scudder (Corning East/Beaver Dams) gave the Cardinals their biggest cushion of the game (4-2).
Fisher held the lead for nearly four minutes, but three unanswered goals over a 4:18 span gave Geneseo its first lead since the opening moments, and put the Blue Knights ahead for good. Glavin brought the Cardinals to within striking distance to tie the score at 5-5 with 9:18 remaining in the first half, but Geneseo closed out the half with a pair of goals, and began the second half with two more goals to take the win.
Quackenbush led the Cardinals with three goals and three assists (six points), while Glavin notched four points on three goals and one assist.
Goalie Vicki Sahm (Bishop Ludden/Balswindsville) made 12 saves for Fisher, who will return to action on Saturday to host Utica College.
