The St. John Fisher College women's lacrosse team scored a season-high 19 goals and cruised to a 19-11 win over visiting Skidmore College on Saturday. It is the most goals scored by Fisher since a 19-17 overtime-win over SUNY Oneonta in 2005 and is one goal shy of the Fisher single-game scoring record.
With the game tied at 7-7, Fisher scored two goals in a 14-second span late in the first half and led 9-7 at intermission. In the second half, Fisher scored the first three goals, and six of the first seven, to take command and never looked back.
Fisher (3-1) was led on the day by its sophomore class. Lauren Glavin tied her career-high for points with seven on four goals and three assists. Ashley Fenyn tallied a career-best six points and tied the Fisher single-game record for assists with four, while scoring two goals. Jill Lockwood tied her career-high with three goals.
Sophomore goalie Vicki Sahm stopped a career-high 17 shots to pick up her third win of the year.
Katie Glavin tallied three goals, Trish Scudder scored twice, while Courtney Clare added one goal and one assist.
First-year players Tabbi Rice, Dana DiIorio and Mary Stimson each scored their first career goals.
Senior All-American Laurie Quackenbush also scored a goal and led Fisher with five draw controls.
Fisher will return to action on Tuesday and will host nationally-ranked William Smith College.
