The Cardinals (11-8 overall, 7-3 Empire 8), who trailed 42-27 at the half, used a 14-4 run over the opening 5:10 to trim the lead to five. The Cardinals however didn’t get any closer until the 1:34 mark, when
Chris Baltz (Vestal) converted one of two free throws, making it 78-74 Nazareth.
Missed free throws plagued Fisher all night, as the Cardinals shot 14-of-27 (51.9%).
Baltz led the Cardinals with 24 points and seven boards, while
Justin Beigel (Cincinnati, OH) scored 11, dished out four assists, and made three steals.
For Nazareth, Joe Canori (Webster) finished with 29 points before fouling out with just over two minutes left. Corey McAdam (Fairport) finished with 14 points and five assists, including 10 points in the second half. Ryan McAdam (Fairport) scored all 13 of his points in the first half.
Fisher will return to action at 8 p.m. on Friday night to take on host Ithaca College.
