Women's Basketball Wins at Hartwick

The St. John Fisher College basketball team defeated host Hartwick College 71-68 on Saturday in the regular-season finale for both teams.  With the win, Fisher improves to 13-12 overall and 8-8 in the Empire 8 Confernece.  If R.I.T. loses at Elmira College on Sunday, Fisher will earn the No. 4 seed in the Empire 8 Championship and will play at top-seeded Stevens Institute of Technology next Friday.

Fisher trailed 68-67 with under two minutes to go, but took the lead for good as Meagan Tubbs stole the ball with 1:44 and converted a layup just three seconds later.   Allison Boehm, who scored 15 of her game-high 20 points in the first half, added a free throw to make it 70-68 and Tubbs converted a free throw with 11 seconds left for the final points.  Hartwick missed a 3-pointer at the buzzer.
