The St. John Fisher College women's basketball team defeated Elmira College 74-53 and improved to 12-10 overall, 7-6 in the Empire 8.
Fisher started the game on a 16-0 run over the first seven minutes and never looked back. The Cardinals shot 59.6% from the field including 68% in the second half to secure the victory. Mary Kate Comfort (Orchard Park/Orchard Park) recorded 15 points and 12 rebounds, including a double-double in the first 20 minutes.
Meagan Tubbs (Ticonderoga/Ticonderoga) added 13 points and four assists. Allison Boehm(Sacred Heart/Cheektowaga) and Colleen Maloney (Liverpool/Liverpool) each chipped in with 11 for the Cardinals.
Fisher returns to action tomorrow at 2 p.m. for Senior Day against the Ithaca Bombers.
