The St. John Fisher College women's basketball team cruised to a 60-40 win over visiting Alfred University on Tuesday. All 13 players that were dressed for the Cardinals scored with sophomore Mary Kate Comfort leading the way with 10 points. Comfort also finished with a career-high five blocked shots. Senior Ashley Dean scored all nine of her points in the first half, while freshman Lyndsay Murphy also finished with nine.
Fisher (10-7 overall, 5-3 Empire 8), who led 32-19 at intermission, scored only five field goals in the second half, but went to the charity stripe 22 times over the final 20 minutes and converted on 18 attempts (81.8%).
For Alfred (2-13, 1-8) Melanie Saxon finished with 14 points and five steals.
