The St. John Fisher College volleyball team lost in its season-opener to host SUNY Geneseo on Wednesday night, 3-1.  Under first-year head coach Kelly Greapentrog the Cardinals rallied to force a fourth game after dropping the first two games 30-25 and 30-21.  After trailing 15-12 in the fourth game, Fisher fought back and tied the score at 21, before SUNY Geneseo pulled away.

Junior Alyssa Ziobrowski (Lewiston/Lewiston-Porter) contributed 14 kills and three service aces in the match, while sophomore Jenna Waldron (Windsor/Windsor) totalled 25 digs and senior Hannah Cordes (Cazenovia/Cazenovia) handed out 33 assists.

Fisher will return to action on Saturday in the Ithaca College tournament.
