SUNY Cortland scored on a breakaway just 6:12 into the game and the defense made it stand up as the Red Dragons defeated Fisher 1-0 to win the championship of the Flower City Classic at University of Rochester's Fauver Stadium on Sunday.  Fisher (1-1) outshot Cortland, 15-6 for the game, 9-4 in the second half, but couldn’t break through for the crucial tying goal. Cortland goalkeeper Jack Carillo made five saves, including a dive back to his low right to stop Fisher’s Luke Lennox 15 minutes into the match. Fisher’s Chris Keating lined a shot off the crossbar with 34 minutes left in the game.
