Baseball Drops Two To Nationally-Ranked Foe

St. John Fisher College lost both games of its baseball doubleheader to SUNY Brockport, ranked 20th nationally, on Thursday.

In the first game,  Ryan Hanson tossed a four-hitter, but was tagged with the loss, as the Golden Eagles erased a 3-1 deficit with three unearned runs in the fifth inning and held on to defeat Fisher, 4-3. Chris Botsford went 3-for-3 for Fisher, while Jeff Fetzner and Marc Montesano each picked up two hits and an RBI.

In the second game, Fisher lost 7-5.  Fisher left 10 runner on base and walked eight Brockport batters over the seven innings.
 
Mike Palermo went 3-for-4 with a run scored for the Cardinals, who will host Utica for two games on both Saturday and Sunday.
