Cardinals Set School Record In Win Over Alfred

The St. John Fisher College men's lacrosse team defeated Alfred University 7-1 on Wednesday at Fisher's Growney Stadium.  The Cardinals allowed just one goal in the game (which came with 3:10), setting a new Fisher record for fewest goals allowed in a contest in the program's six-year history.

Fisher's scored two goals in the game's first 129 seconds. Freshman Dave Malone scored both goals, while classmate Chris Schmidt assisting on both plays.  Schmidt also scored Fisher's next goal, while Dennis Bell scored with 4:56 left in the opening quarter to give the Cardinals a 4-0 lead.

Goalie Brian Cummings finished the game with five saves.

Fisher (4-2 overall, 1-1 Empire 8) will return to action at 1 p.m. on Saturday and will host Hartwick College.
