Baseball Sweeps Medaille To Improve to 6-2

Jeff Fetzner, who was on a 3-for-28 streak, snapped out of his funk, and went 4-for-4 with a walk and four runs in his final five plate appearances.

The St. John Fisher College baseball team won two games over Medaille College on Tuesday. In the first game, Fisher defeated visiting Medaille College 8-7 in eight innings.  Fisher led 7-1 going into the seventh inning, but gave up six runs to force extra innings.  In the eighth inning, Jeff Fetzner started the frame with a triple to left center, and after back-to-back intentional walks, Matt Bennage ended the game with a slow grounder to third base to score the winning run.

In the nightcap, Fisher scored at least one run in all six innings and posted a 9-1 win to improve to 6-2.  Fetzner went 3-for-3 with three runs scored to lead the way, while David Roth, Chris Botsford, Marc Montesano and Bennage each finished with two hits and a run scored.
