The St. John Fisher College women's basketball team won their first Empire 8 Conference matchup over the visiting RIT Tigers 64-55. Mary Kate Comfort (Orchard Park/Orchard Park) led the Cardinals with a double-double, recording a team high 11 points and 11 rebounds. Allison Boehm (Sacred Heart/Cheektowaga) finished the game with 10 points and 4 assists. Freshman Colleen Maloney (Liverpool/Liverpool) contributed a career-high 8 points in the win.
The Tigers were led by Danielle Furman who finished with a game high 13 points. Also playing a large role for the Tigers was Christine Rowinski who tallied 8 rebounds, 7 assists and 3 steals.
Fisher improves to 5-1(1-0 Empire 8) overall and is back in action at 2 p.m. on Sunday to take on Stevens.
