Men's Basketball Slips at SUNY Geneseo

The St. John Fisher College men's basketball team lost 68-64 to host SUNY Geneseo on Tuesday night.  With the loss, the Cardinals fall to 0-2, marking just the second time in the last 25 years Fisher has lost its first two games.  The last time Fisher was 0-2, was during the 1994-95 season, when the Cardinals started 0-4, yet went 10-1 over the final 11 games of the season and earned at-large bid to the NCAA Division III Championship.  Fisher has been to the NCAAs every year, except for two, since.

Chris Baltz (Vestal/Vestal) scored 20 points to lead all scorers, while Justin Beigel (Colerain/Cincinnati, OH) tallied 15 points and eight rebounds for the Cardinals.  Matt Newman (Campbell-Savona/Campbell) added 15 points and four rebounds.

The Cardinals will return to action at 8 p.m. on Friday to take on visiting R.I.T. in an Empire 8 Conference game.
