The St. John Fisher College men's soccer team couldn't make a one-goal hold up for the final 10 minutes and lost a 3-2 decision to host SUNY Geneseo on Wednesday. Fisher tooked a 2-1 lead on a goal from Brad Ervin in the 78th minute, but the Blue Knights tied the game in 81st minute and tallied the game-winning goal with 28 seconds left in regulation.
Luke Lennox scored Fisher's first goal, while Andrew McIntosh and Ervin each picked up assists. Adam Durst made four saves over 90 minutes.
Fisher will return to action at approximately 7 p.m. on Saturday and will host Alfred University in the regular-season finale. If the Cardinals can pick up a win, they will reach double-digits in the win column, but more importantly, they will earn one of four spots for the Empire 8 Conference Championship. The winner of the four-team double-elimination tournament will advance to the NCAA Division III Championship.
