In their first match of the SUNY Oswego Invitational, the Cardinals earned a 3-0 (30-20, 30-20, 30-13) victory over Utica College. Hannah Cordes (Cazenovia/Cazenovia) led the Cardinals with 29 assists, and added eight kills, seven digs, and seven blocks. Junior Kayleigh Cassetta (Cicero North-Syracuse/Liverpool) recorded a team-high 12 kills and six blocks, while freshman Sydney Kandefer (Nardin Academy/Alden) chipped in with seven kills, five blocks and one ace.
Fisher closed out the first day of the Invitational with a 3-0 (30-22, 30-21, 30-24) win over SUNY Plattsburgh. Cordes finished the match with 21 assists and 11 defensive digs, while Jessie Pegler (Churchville-Chili/Rochester) added 10 more digs and five kills. Kandefer (eight kills, five blocks, two aces) and Alyssa Ziobrowski (Lewiston-Porter/Lewiston) (seven kills, six digs) also recorded strong performances in the win.
Fisher (10-13) will return to action tomorrow to take on SUNY Morrisville and SUNYIT in the final day of the SUNY Oswego Invitational.
