Men's Basketball Wins At Naz

The St. John Fisher College men's basketball team won its ninth straight game, as the Cardinals defeated host Nazareth College 73-63 on Saturday.

Fisher, who trailed by as many as 12 points in the first half, went on a 7-0 run over the final 1:01 of the the first half and went to the locker room with the scored tied at 37.

Fisher built up a 10-point lead in the second half, but Nazareth trimmed the margin down to three with 4:27 left.  The Cardinals, however, put the game out of reach with an 11-0 run over the next 3:30.

Justin Beigel led Fisher with 17 points, while Matt Newman added 11 points.  Dan Mueller totaled 10 points, while Dan McSweeney chipped in with 10 boards and six points.

Mike McKeever finished with a career-high nine points on three 3-pointers. 

 Fisher will return to action on Wednesday in the JPMorgan Chase Scholarship Tournament.  Fisher, who has won the tournament each of the last two years, will find out on Sunday who it will play.
