For the second time in the last 20 hours, the St. John Fisher College women's basketball team overcame a double-digit second-half deficit and rallied for a win, as the Cardinals battled back to beat host Nazareth College 69-61 on Saturday.
Fisher (2-0 Empire 8, 7-3 overall) trailed by 11 with 16 minutes left, but responded with an 11-0 run to tie the game at 47-47 with 12:29 remaining.
Nazareth led 54-49 with 7:28 left, but the Cardinals took their first lead of the game on a 3-pointer from freshman Kellie Leathem, who scored a career-high 13 points, with 5:17 remaining. Nazareth regained the lead on a 3-pointer on the following possession, but Fisher ended the game with an 11-4 run over the final 4:28.
Allison Boehm led all scorers with 20 points. She also added 10 boards, five assists and three steals.
Ashley Dean finished with 13 points, while Mary Francis added eight points and seven rebounds.
Fisher will return to action on Tuesday night in the JPMorgan Chase Scholarship Tournament. Seedings for the annual eight-tournament will be announced Sunday night.
