Second-Half Rally Comes Up Short for Women's Basketball

Lone senior Mary Francis enjoyed a career-day, tallying 23 points and 13 rebounds, but it wasn't enough.

The St. John Fisher College women's basketball team suffered its first loss in Empire 8 Conference action, as the Cardinals dropped a 66-59 decision to host Utica College on Friday.

Fisher, who won its first three league games after rallying from eight or more points down in the second half in each contest, trailed by 12 at intermission, but managed to tie the game on the three different occasions over the final 10 minutes.  Allison Boehm tied the game at 57-57 with three minutes left, but the Pioneers went on a 9-2 run to end the game.

Mary Francis led Fisher with a career-high 23 points and 13 rebounds.
